PHILOSOPHY
The teaching philosophy at The Interior Design School emulates a practising design studio and encompasses all the skills and knowledge necessary for professional practice. Including freehand to construction drawings, lighting to textiles and all aspects of interior design practice. Each year the course content is reviewed to ensure the outcome is in keeping with the industry standards. The teaching process is based around a programme of individual briefs and all projects are presented to and assessed by practising interior designers.
THE STUDIO
The studio represents a functioning design practice enabling you to operate in a relevant and professional environment. The space is designed with individual workstations that benefit from plenty of natural light to create an inspiring studio. The library and lecture space is equipped with extensive design and reference books, samples, catalogues and current magazines. Students are taught using a combination of sketch books, drawing boards and Apple Macbook Pro computers and appropriate software.
LOCATION
The Interior Design School is now based at the Paper Studio in the heart of the design district. The location is five minutes from Old Street tube station and is easily accessible to Kings Cross, Liverpool Street and Farringdon on the Elizabeth Line and within reach of Shoreditch, Clerkenwell, Islington. We will be occupying a former paper production warehouse built in 1908 and recently transformed into inspiring studio spaces.
